The Rector is the Chief Executive Officer having overall authority over the academic, management, administrative, and financial affairs of the Seminary subject only to the Statutes and policy directives coming from the Governing Council and the Synod Committee Executive of the Global Evangelical Church. The Rector reports directly to the Chairman of the Governing Council to whom s/he provides strategic advice and briefings. The powers, functions and conditions of engagement of the Rector are explicitly spelt out in Statute 3.2 of the Statutes of GTS.

Terms of Appointment of the rector is determined by the Governing Council in line with the Seminary’s Statutes and the policy guidelines of the Global Evangelical Church.
