The Governing Council of GTS

The Principal Officers of the Seminary are the Chairman of the Global Theological Seminary Governing Council, which is also referred to as “the Council”, and the Rector. The Council is the highest decision making body of the Seminary. The Rector is the Chief Executive Officer as well as the academic and administrative head of the Seminary. He or she is the Chief Disciplinarian in all matters relating to conduct and behaviours of all staff and students in the Seminary. Below is the composition of the current members of the Governing Council which includes the Principal Officers of the Seminary:

Composition of the Council

(a) The Council shall consist of the following members:

i. A Chairperson.

ii. The Rector of the Seminary.

iii. One person representing the Synod Committee Executive of the Global Evangelical Church.

iv. One (1) Faculty Member.

v. President of the Alumni Association.

vi. One (1) person representing the GTS Staff.

vii. President of the Students’ Representative Council.

viii. Four (4) distinguished personalities in the Global Evangelical Church with considerable experience nominated by the Rector in consultation with the Academic Board as follows: an Educationist, a Lawyer, a University Lecturer above the rank of Senior Lecturer, and one person coming from industry with background in either Estate Management or Finance.

ix. The Registrar of GTS (in attendance, Secretary to the Council).

x. The Vice-Rector and the Finance Officer may be in attendance.

xi. Representative of the Affiliate/ Mentoring Institution shall be in attendance.
