Vacancy Notice: APPOINTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for immediate appointment as Administrative Secretary
at the Global Theological Seminary (GTS) at the headquarters at Adenta in Accra.
The Institution: The GTS was established by the Global Evangelical Church in 1991 for the purpose of
training pastors and other church workers within and outside the Church. Currently, the Seminary has gained institutional accreditation from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission to run academic programmes leading to the award of Diplomas and Degree certificates in Theology. It also runs non-pastoral certificate level programmes in Christian Ministry; Christian Leadership; Biblical Counselling; Biblical Peace Making; and Professional Lay Counselling.

The Position:

  1. The Administrative Secretary shall provide administrative, secretarial and clerical support to the offices of
    the Rector and the Registrar.
  2. He or she shall assist in developing, managing and maintaining confidential correspondences and other
    official documents in a highly responsible manner.
  3. The position is open to persons of all ages including retired professionals who are not more than 62 years of age.
    Qualifications and Experience: The applicant must:
  4. Have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
  5. Have background education in management, administration, English Language or information studies.
  6. Training in secretaryship will be an advantage.
  7. Have not less than 5 years’ post-qualification working experience, three (3) years of which should be at
    the middle level management or administrative and secretarial grade.
    The Person: The applicant must:
    1 Have demonstrable knowledge, understanding and application of management, administrative and
    secretarial principles and practices.
    2 Have proven ability to exercise objective judgment and initiative in:
    a) Planning, organizing and taking minutes at executive meetings;
    b) Assisting in developing and reviewing standardized formats of policy, regulatory and procedural
    documents; ensuring that they are accurate and complete for signature; and disseminating and posting
    them as appropriate;
    c) Keeping and updating official records, managing correspondences and maintaining an efficient filing
    system;
    d) Leading an assigned number of administrative and, as such, may assign and review the work of such
    personnel.
    Terms of Appointment: Shall be as determined by the Governing Council in line with the Seminary’s Statutes
    and the policy guidelines of the Global Evangelical Church.
